Smoky White Beans & Ham

  • 1 pound dried great northern beans
  • 3 smoked ham hocks (about 1 1/2 lbs.)
  • 3 can (14 oz. each) chicken broth
  • 2 cup water
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 4 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 0 Thinly sliced green onions, optional


1. Rinse and sort beans; transfer to inner pot. Add ham hocks. Stir in broth, water, onions, garlic, pepper and cayenne. Lock pressure lid. Press pressure function; select beans setting. Set to long cook time (30 minutes). Start.

2. Let pressure release naturally for 10 minutes; quick-release any remaining pressure. When cool enough to handle, remove meat from bones; cut ham into small pieces and return to inner pot. Serve with a slotted spoon. If desired, sprinkle with green onions.
